At Rod Rivet, we understand that even the most seasoned angler can sometimes make a cast that doesn’t land quite right. We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase, just like we want that perfect drift in a promising run. If you’re not happy with an item, we’re here to make it right.

Our Policy

We gladly accept returns and exchanges for most new, unused, and unopened items within 15 days of you receiving your order. To be eligible for a return or exchange, the item must be in its original packaging with all tags attached.

Please Note: Due to the nature of certain products, we cannot accept returns or exchanges on the following items for hygiene and safety reasons:
  • Fly Tying Kits & Materials: Once opened, these materials cannot be resold.
  • Leaders & Tippet: These are considered final sale once the packaging is opened.
  • Fly Boxes: If the original packaging has been removed.
  • Any item that is not in its original condition, is damaged, or is missing parts for reasons not due to our error.

How to Initiate a Return or Exchange

Follow these simple steps to get your return or exchange process started:

  1. Contact Us: Within 15 days of receiving your order, please email us at [email protected] with your order number and details about the product you would like to return or exchange. You can use the template below to make it easier.
  2. Wait for Instructions: Our customer service team will respond within 2 business days with a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and instructions on where to send your package. Please do not send anything back without an RMA number.
  3. Ship the Item: Carefully pack the unused, unopened item in its original packaging. Include a copy of your original order confirmation or packing slip. Ship your return to the address we provide. Please note that return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, unless the return is due to an error on our part (e.g., wrong item shipped).
  4. Processing: Once we receive and inspect your returned item, we will process your refund or exchange. Please allow 3-5 business days for us to process the return after we receive it.

Refund Timing and Method

We will notify you via email once we have received and processed your returned item.

  • Timing: Your refund will be processed within 5-7 business days of our receipt of the return. The timing for the refund to appear in your account will then depend on your original payment method and financial institution.
    • Credit/Debit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, JCB): 5-10 business days
    • PayPal: 3-5 business days
  • Method: Refunds will be issued to the original method of payment. If you paid via credit card, the refund will go back to that same card. We are unable to issue refunds to a different card or account.

Please note: Original shipping fees are non-refundable for returns that are not our fault.

Exchanges

For exchanges of the same value, the process is the same as a return. Once we receive your original item, we will ship out the new one. If the new item is of a higher value, we will charge you the difference once the return is received.
